My husband loves dessert. So, in an effort to satisfy his sweet tooth, I have been baking up all different kinds of desserts. Needless to say, I have now acquired a sweet tooth of my own. These Oreo Truffles will not only satisfy your chocolate craving, they will save you time in the kitchen. These are a cinch to make and there is no baking required! This recipe yields about 30-36 truffle balls. Beware, however, they somehow disappear in one sitting.
The Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 (16 oz.) package OREO sandwich cookies
1 (8 oz.) package PHILADELPHIA cream cheese, softened.
1 (8 oz.) box BAKER'S semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted. (I've used BAKER'S white chocolate too. Yum!)
1. Crush 3 cookies to fine crumbs in food processor. Set aside for topping.
Crush the remaining cookies to fine crumbs and place in a medium sized bowl. Add the cream cheese and mix until well blended. (I use my hands and mush it all together.) Roll mixture into balls, about 1 inch in diameter. (I just use a small cookie scoop.)
2. Drizzle or dip balls in chocolate and place on a sheet of parchment paper. Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs.
3. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
